Hain Celestial sells North American snacks business to Snackruptors for $115M

The sale will streamline Hain’s North American operations and enable the company to focus on higher‑margin categories with better cash flow.

HOBOKEN, N.J.— Hain Celestial is divesting its North American snacks division—home to Garden Veggie Snacks, Terra chips and Garden of Eatin'—selling the portfolio to Canadian snack maker Snackruptors for $115 million. The transaction is expected to close by the end of the month.

Once completed, the sale will streamline Hain’s North American operations and allow the company to concentrate on higher‑margin categories with stronger cash flow potential. The business will retain several flagship brands, including Celestial Seasonings teas, Greek Gods yogurt, Spectrum Organic culinary oils and Earth’s Best Organic baby and kids products.

CEO Alison Lewis, who assumed the role permanently in December, has committed to reversing Hain’s recent sales declines by eliminating unprofitable or low‑margin SKUs and exiting categories where the company is “structurally disadvantaged” or lacks a “right to win.”
