GOUVERNEUR, N.Y. — Bridget-ann Hart has been promoted to president and chief executive officer of KPH Healthcare Services Inc., formerly Kinney Drugs.

Bridget-ann Hart has been promoted to president and chief executive officer of KPH Healthcare Services Inc., formerly Kinney Drugs.

The regional drug chain said Tuesday that Hart, previously president of Kinney Health Care Services, will oversee the daily operations of KPH Healthcare Services.

Hart takes the reins from CEO and chairman Craig Painter, who will now serve as executive chairman of the board. KPH also noted that Painter will remain actively engaged as chairman and continue to be involved in the development of new business model strategies.

"Bridget is a dynamic leader who has the vision, the values and the passion to help lead our company into the future," Painter said in a statement. "With Bridget’s proven track record of success, we are confident that she will drive future growth and long term value for our company."

Hart has been with Kinney, which announced its corporate name change last month, for her entire career. She has held various senior leadership positions within the company in pharmacy and professional services, store operations, human resources, corporate development, including as president and chief operating officer of Kinney Drugs.

Overall, Kinney operates 100 drug stores in northern and central New York and in Vermont. The adoption of the new corporate name didn’t change the drug chain’s store signs and logo.

Kinney also runs HealthDirect Institutional Pharmacy Services, which serves long-term care facilities, as well as assisted living facilities, group homes, county and state correctional facilities, and addiction and mental health residences. ProAct Pharmacy Benefit Management, another Kinney division, provides mail-order prescription fulfillment for many large employer health insurance plans in the region.
