CINCINNATI — Head & Shoulders has signed up New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham as its latest hair ambassador.

Head & Shoulders has signed up New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham as its latest hair ambassador.

The Procter & Gamble hair care brand — the official shampoo of the National Football League — said that fans can now see Beckham in his first ad for Head & Shoulders on the brand’s YouTube channel. The ad highlights his shoulders and all that he carries on them — hopes, dreams, his reputation, and the admiration of his fans, but not dandruff, the company said.

Fans also can keep tabs on what Beckham is up to this NFL season with Head & Shoulders by visiting @HeadShoulders on Twitter and the Head & Shoulders Facebook page.

Along with his football talent, Beckham is known for his iconic hair and unique sense of style, making him a natural fit for the brand, according to P&G. Last season, Beckham won Offensive Rookie of the Year honors and an ESPN ESPY Award for his famed one-handed catch.

In becoming a new brand ambasssador, Beckham joins retired Pittsburgh Steeler Troy Polamalu, whose hair and scalp “reached legendary status” with Head & Shoulders over the last six years, the brand said.

"I’m honored to be chosen as the new Head & Shoulders hair ambassador. It’s an iconic brand that I trust to take care of my hair and scalp. Troy Polamalu and his legendary hair have left a big helmet to fill, but I’m ready to take on this role and join the Head & Shoulders family," Beckham said in a statement.
