FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Health Network One (HN1), a leading specialty network management company, has named former Rite Aid head Heyward Donigan as its new chief executive officer, effective January 1. Current HN1 CEO Luis Mosquera will step into the role of executive chairman of the board.

Donigan brings over 35 years of healthcare industry leadership to her new role, having steered numerous organizations through transformative periods. Most recently, she served as president and CEO of Rite Aid, where she successfully navigated the company through the complexities of the COVID-19 pandemic, expanded pharmacy services, and implemented critical support initiatives. Her efforts earned her the Distinguished Leadership Award from The Conference Board in 2022, recognizing her for adeptly managing through challenging times.

“Health Network One has been a pioneer in developing innovative solutions to complex healthcare challenges for a quarter century,” Donigan stated. “I look forward to working with the talented team to build on this legacy and further establish HN1 as the leading provider of specialty network management.”

As HN1's new CEO, Donigan is poised to leverage her extensive background in healthcare management. She has previously held top leadership positions at organizations such as CIGNA, ValueOptions, Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Premera Blue Cross. Her career spans critical areas like network contracting, operations, sales, clinical care, and technology.

During her tenure at ValueOptions, Donigan played a pivotal role in expanding behavioral health services and driving company revenues beyond the $1 billion mark. She later led Sapphire Digital as CEO, where she was instrumental in achieving record growth and enhancing consumer engagement.

In his new capacity as Executive Chairman, Mosquera will continue to play a vital role in HN1’s strategic direction, focusing on client relationships and product innovation. Mosquera, who has guided HN1 for 25 years, reflected on the company's journey and expressed confidence in Donigan's leadership.

“For the past 25 years, we’ve been at the forefront of healthcare innovation, developing care models that have transformed the industry,” Mosquera said. “I'm incredibly proud of what this team has achieved. To continue this momentum, I'm pleased to welcome Heyward, whose proven leadership and deep industry knowledge make her the best person to guide us into this next phase of growth. I look forward to working with her and the entire organization in my new role.”

Donigan’s appointment comes at a critical juncture for Health Network One, as the company seeks to expand its footprint in specialty network management. With a track record of driving transformation, Donigan’s leadership is expected to accelerate HN1’s growth trajectory and strengthen its position in the healthcare industry.
