Hy-Vee is offering free health screenings for American Heart Month

Table of Contents

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa—To help customers take control of their health, Hy-Vee is offering 1,500 free biometric screenings across its eight-state footprint during American Heart Month. The initiative, which aims to identify potential risk factors for chronic diseases such as heart disease, hypertension, and diabetes, reinforces the grocery chain’s commitment to community wellness.

Hy-Vee dietitians will conduct the screenings, which include cholesterol, triglycerides, and glucose level tests using a simple finger stick. Participants will also receive blood pressure readings, body mass index (BMI) calculations, and key body measurements—all in a process that takes just 15 to 20 minutes.

To qualify for the free screening, individuals must be at least 18 years old and will need to fast for 10 to 12 hours prior to their appointment. Registration is required and can be completed online. Once signed up, a local Hy-Vee dietitian will schedule the screening based on availability.

The program is supported by Silk, Mid-Day Squares, PB2 Performance Protein, and the U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council, aligning with Hy-Vee’s broader efforts to promote heart health and nutrition.
