WEST DES MOINES, Iowa—Marking a quarter-century tradition, Hy-Vee is set to honor veterans and active-duty military members with a free Veterans Day Breakfast on Monday, November 11. The event, which began as a small gathering in 1999 at Hy-Vee’s Belton, Missouri, location, has grown to include all Hy-Vee stores across its eight-state region. Veterans and active-duty military personnel can enjoy a complimentary buffet-style breakfast from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. as a gesture of appreciation for their service.

In addition to breakfast, veterans and active-duty military members will receive a 15% discount on their grocery purchases on Veterans Day at all Hy-Vee, Dollar Fresh Market, and Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh stores.

To further honor military families, Hy-Vee has launched its annual “Hy-Vee Homefront Round Up” fundraiser, inviting customers to support organizations dedicated to veterans and active-duty military personnel. The campaign, which runs through Nov. 17, allows customers to round up their purchases. Hy-Vee will match all donations up to $100,000. Proceeds will benefit Hope for the Warriors, Operation First Response, the American Red Cross, and the Puppy Jake Foundation.

To commemorate this 25-year milestone, Hy-Vee is featuring special displays at select locations. The “Spirit of Iowa Tribute Bell” will be at the Grimes Hy-Vee in Iowa, symbolizing support for veterans across the state. Additionally, the traveling “Remembering Our Fallen” memorial will be on display at Hy-Vee stores in Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska, honoring those who lost their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan.
