It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Leonard (Len) A. Genovese, former president and CEO of Genovese Drug Stores, Inc., on November 1, 2025, at the age of 91. Len served as the NACDS Chair from 1998-1999 and as of late served on the NACDS Honorary Board.
Len was a leader and a respected figure in our industry, remembered not only for his business aptitude but also for his great humor, generosity, and deep care for others. Under his leadership, Genovese Drug Stores grew to become one of the most trusted regional drug chains in the country—built on a foundation of service, compassion, and family values.
Beyond his professional achievements, Len was a devoted husband to his wife of 68 years, Geraldine (Gerry), a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His legacy will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.
Services will be held as follows:
- Visitation: Thursday, November 6, from 4:00–8:00 p.m. at Oyster Bay Funeral Home, 261 South St., Oyster Bay, NY
- Funeral Mass: Friday, November 7, at 10:45 a.m. at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Huntington, NY
- Interment: Locust Valley Cemetery
