ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Ingles Markets Inc. has appointed Jim Lanning as chief executive officer and president. In his new post Lanning will continue to work with and report to company chairman Robert Ingle II.
Lanning joined Ingles as a student in 1975 and has served as company president since 2003. As CEO/President, he will continue his day-to-day active leadership role, the company said.
“Jim has shown outstanding leadership qualities as president for the past 13 years. I am proud at this time to expand his role for the company’s future growth, flexibility and development,” Ingle said in a statement.
Asheville, N.C.-based Ingles Markets operates 202 supermarkets in six southeastern states. The company also operates neighborhood shopping centers and a fluid dairy facility.
