Instacart appoints Ryan Hamburger as Chief Commercial Officer

SAN FRANCISCO — Instacart has named Ryan Hamburger as chief commercial officer, elevating a more than decade-long company veteran to its senior leadership team as it continues to expand its role across grocery retail and retail media.

Hamburger has been with Instacart for over 10 years and has played a central role in building the company’s commercial organization as it scaled into a leading grocery technology platform in North America. During that time, he helped develop one of the industry’s largest retail partner ecosystems, working closely with grocers while also supporting partnerships with companies including Grubhub, Airbnb and Toast.

His work has focused on helping retailers grow orders and gross transaction value, deepen customer relationships, and integrate more closely with Instacart’s platform. He has also been instrumental in expanding the company’s enterprise technology offering, including ecommerce, fulfillment and in-store solutions designed to help retailers modernize operations and accelerate omnichannel capabilities.

That expansion includes increased adoption of Instacart’s Storefront Pro and Carrot Ads platforms, which are becoming core components of retailers’ digital and retail media strategies. Hamburger has also supported growing international demand for these technologies as Instacart extends its footprint beyond North America.

In his new role, Hamburger will oversee commercial partnerships across both Instacart’s marketplace and enterprise platform. He will work closely with CEO Chris Rogers and the company’s leadership team to align commercial strategy and drive long-term value for retailers, brands, customers and shoppers.
