SAN FRANCISCO — As grocers race to meet rising consumer expectations for fast, affordable, and flexible delivery, Instacart is doubling down on enterprise fulfillment capabilities designed to give retail partners a competitive advantage.
Retailers like Costco, Kroger, Harmons, and Woodman’s are leveraging Instacart’s end-to-end technology to offer enhanced e-commerce experiences, from express delivery in 30 minutes to fully integrated digital storefronts.
Costco has expanded its sameday.costco.com platform with two new fulfillment modes powered by Instacart: No-Rush Delivery, which rewards members for choosing a later window, and Priority Delivery, which fulfills orders in as little as 30 minutes.
Kroger is also increasing speed with Express Delivery, which is available through its app and website. Customers receive groceries quickly without sacrificing access to loyalty perks and savings.
Through Storefront Pro, Instacart allows grocers to directly integrate delivery, pickup, and full-service shopping into their owned and operated e-commerce channels. Harmons and Woodman’s are among the grocers utilizing this solution to modernize their customer experience.
According to Instacart, dozens of retailers upgraded to Storefront Pro in 2024 alone, with most reporting double-digit sales increases post-implementation.
With a billion lifetime orders and operations across 1,800 retail banners, Instacart’s scale brings unmatched order density and logistical efficiency. Their fulfillment network visits large-format stores an average of 14 times per day, creating cost and time efficiencies that are difficult for most grocers to replicate independently.
“We’re focused on helping retailers increase availability and speed, while giving customers more same-day options no matter how they choose to shop,” said Ryan Hamburger, Vice President of Retail Partnerships at Instacart. “By introducing flexible fulfillment offerings like Priority Delivery, retailers can meet the demand for convenience while unlocking potential incremental volume. Whether it’s faster delivery, full-service shopping, or scalable last-mile support, we’re committed to powering the tools our partners need to grow and serve their customers on their own terms.”
From rapid delivery to tech-enabled scalability, Instacart’s fulfillment tools are helping grocers bridge the gap between rising expectations and operational capacity, positioning them to thrive in a convenience-first era.
