Instacart launches back-to-school “Season of Savings”

A Harris Poll for Instacart finds 64% of parents with school or college children worry about this year’s back-to-school costs.

SAN FRANCISCO — Instacart is kicking off the back-to-school season with its annual “Season of Savings” campaign, designed to ease the financial and logistical stress parents face as kids head back to the classroom.

According to a new Harris Poll conducted on behalf of Instacart, 64% of parents with school-aged or college-aged children are concerned about this year’s back-to-school costs, including essentials like supplies, clothing, and groceries. Nearly half (47%) find school supply shopping especially stressful, and more than half (51%) report spending four or more hours preparing their kids for the school year.

To support families, Instacart is introducing a suite of seasonal savings tools, including Back-to-School Deal Week, complimentary daily lunchbox essentials, a dedicated shopping hub, and exclusive retailer discounts.

Deal Week: August 11–17

Each day during Deal Week, shoppers can claim a free back-to-school snack or staple item with their Instacart order. Offers include:

  • Aug. 11: Cheerios Cinnamon Protein
  • Aug. 12: Danimals® Strawberry Smoothie (6-pack)
  • Aug. 13: Welch’s® Mixed Fruit Snacks (40 count)
  • Aug. 14: Land O Lakes® Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese Chunk
  • Aug. 15: Orgain® Kids Protein Shake (4-pack, chocolate)
  • Aug. 16: Pringles® Mingles Cheddar and Sour Cream Snacks
  • Aug. 17: Mott’s® No Sugar Added Applesauce Pouches (12 count)

Customers can redeem these offers via the Instacart app or website, with no minimum spend beyond the $10 delivery threshold.

This survey was conducted online within the United States by The Harris Poll on behalf of Instacart from July 17 to 21, 2025, among 710 parents aged 18 and older with children in school/college. The sampling precision of Harris online polls is measured by using a Bayesian credible interval.  For this study, the sample data are accurate to within ±4.4 percentage points using a 95% confidence level.
