SAN FRANCISCO — Instacart is launching a new Shopper Rewards Card, designed to give its shoppers faster, fee-free payouts and cashback perks on everyday expenses, such as gas and EV charging.
Powered by the financial technology firm Branch, the debit card will enable Instacart shoppers to receive automatic payouts after every completed batch at no additional cost, eliminating the need to wait for weekly deposits or pay Instant Cashout fees when using the new card. Shoppers can still opt for weekly deposits to their preferred bank accounts for free or continue using Instant Cashouts to other accounts for a $1.50 fee.
The Shopper Rewards Card, issued by Mastercard and offered without annual fees or credit checks, will give cardholders 1-3% cash back on gas and EV charging, with the highest rates tied to Cart Star status. Additional Mastercard perks could push cashback totals up to 4% at select gas stations.
Cardholders will also benefit from eight fee-free ATM withdrawals per month at over 55,000 Allpoint ATMs nationwide.
The card will be rolled out to U.S. shoppers in two phases, starting in October 2025, with full availability following in April 2026, aligned with Instacart’s updated Cart Star rewards program.
Shoppers will be able to apply directly in the Shopper app once sign-ups open, with full account management handled in the Instacart Shopper Rewards app.
