CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. — Jenni Zilka is president of Good Neighbor Pharmacy, the national franchise network for independent pharmacies offered by Cencora (formerly AmerisourceBergen), where she also serves as senior vice president of community and specialty pharmacy.
Zilka was appointed to her current positions in October 2021. Prior to that, she served first as group VP for Good Neighbor Pharmacy Field Programs and Services and then as senior VP for field programs and services.
In her current role, Zilka leads a team of experienced professionals who are committed to helping independent community pharmacies surmount a daunting array of challenges in the retail pharmacy space. Their performance can perhaps be judged by the fact that Good Neighbor Pharmacy has ranked No. 1 in customer satisfaction in the J.D. Power U.S. Pharmacy Study 13 times in the last 15 years.
“The interesting thing about independents is that they are part of the community,” Zilka said in an interview late last year. “They don’t drive into the community to work; they live there. They go to school with their patients; they go to church with their patients. They’ll open a pharmacy late at night so a patient can get what they need, and they will go the extra mile to help secure a hard-to-find product or drug.”
Good Neighbor Pharmacy, she added, leverages its scale to provide some of the back-office support that chain drug stores enjoy. Services provided include business coaching to optimize performance and service; merchandising assistance; marketing and advertising counseling; and, perhaps most vital, advocacy with both federal and state governments.
“We’re very proud to help our pharmacies engage with their lawmakers, to have a seat at the table and share their story, both at the federal and state levels.” Zilka said.
