BOISE, Idaho — Last April Jennifer Saenz was named executive vice president of pharmacy and e-commerce, two of Albertsons’ most important growth engines. Saenz joined Albertsons in 2021 as chief merchandising officer from PepsiCo Inc., where she served for 15 years, most recently as global chief marketing officer and president of global foods.
As chief merchant, Saenz continuously worked to anticipate customer needs and offer goods and services that delight shoppers. She was responsible for Albertsons’ award-winning own brands program and for strengthening the grocer’s relationship with its brand partners. She led the rebranding and consolidation of Albertsons’ highly successful Signature brand as well as the launch of the Signature SELECT Mix + Match meal solutions line.
“At Albertsons Cos. we are committed to delivering great quality with unparalleled value and convenience,” Saenz said when the line was introduced. “Our new Signature SELECT Mix + Match line, made from quality ingredients, is the ultimate solution for busy families who need a simple, delicious dinner without time-consuming prep and cleanup.”
Saenz brought extensive global industry experience and a solid track record of driving growth through marketing, analytics and product innovation, all grounded in a deep understanding of the consumer. She has been widely recognized for her professional accomplishments, including being named to Fast Company’s list of Most Creative People in 2018; Brand Innovators’ Top 100 Women in Marketing in 2017, 2018 and 2019; and Adweek’s Brand Genius Award in 2017.
