Jennifer Vecchio

Group President, Chief Merchandising Officer, Burlington Stores.

Jennifer Vecchio has nearly three decades of experience in the off-price retail sector. She joined Burlington Stores as executive vice president and chief merchandising officer in 2015 after more than 15 years at Ross Stores, where she held various merchandising positions, including executive vice president of merchandising. Vecchio got her start in merchandising in 1988 while working at Macy’s.

Two years into her tenure at Burlington, Vecchio was promoted to the newly created role of chief merchandising officer/principal, responsible for the merchandise planning and allocation functions for the retailer of name-brand apparel, footwear and home goods offered at lower-than-prevailing prices.

Vecchio was named president and chief merchandising officer in 2019. Since then, Burlington’s inventory has been reduced by a third even as new product lines have been added in beauty, home goods and other categories. Apparel remains a core category.

Vecchio’s title was changed to group president and chief merchandising officer in July 2021. Meanwhile, the company has continued to open smaller-format stores that deliver the treasure-seeking, bargain-hunting shopping experience strongly identified with off-price retailing.

The Burlington Township, N.J.-based company expects to add 110 new stores in 2026 as it continues to revamp existing stores with redesigned layouts, signage and fixtures that make stores feel new and exciting and give shoppers an uncluttered path to the merchandise.
