PHILADELPHIA — Jessica Kazmaier’s leadership has been instrumental in guiding Rite Aid through one of its most challenging periods, helping the retail pharmacy chain emerge from bankruptcy as a privately held company with a right-sized store footprint, more efficient operating model, significantly less debt and additional financial resources.

In her dual roles as chief administrative officer and chief of staff, Kazmaier has been a driving force behind Rite Aid’s recovery and transformation.

Her strategic vision and operational expertise were crucial in restructuring the organization, streamlining internal processes and ensuring the company remained focused on its long-term goals. Under her leadership, Rite Aid has emerged with a renewed focus on operational health and sustainability.

“Guiding Rite Aid through its transformation has been centered around aligning our strategy, operations and culture to drive long-term success,” Kazmaier says. “A major focus has been optimizing processes and breaking down silos to create a more agile and efficient organization. Over the past year, I’m especially proud of how we’ve not only navigated a challenging period, but also accelerated decision making and cross-functional collaboration, ensuring we’re well positioned for sustainable growth and operational excellence moving forward.”

Colleagues credit Kazmaier with playing a vital role at Rite Aid in optimizing technology enablement, mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.

Her ability to integrate workstreams and foster cross-functional collaboration is cited in the progress Rite Aid has made in becoming a more agile enterprise.
