Few executives embody the cross-functional spirit of Hy-Vee quite like Jessica Ringena. Now serving as chief revenue officer, Ringena has built a career defined by a deep understanding of how finance, marketing, technology and operations intersect to drive growth.
Ringena began her Hy-Vee journey in the accounting department as a controller. From there, she moved fluidly across the organization, taking on leadership roles spanning technology, marketing, health care and finance. That breadth of experience now converges in her current post, where she oversees finance, marketing and retail media with a singular goal: Grow top-line revenue while optimizing profitability.
“At its core, my role is about bringing those worlds together,” she said. By aligning forecasting and projections with marketing strategy and retail media measurement, Ringena is focused on creating synergy across disciplines that historically operated in silos. The goal is sharper performance insights and a more seamless customer journey, from offer generation and list building to in-store and online engagement.
Ringena is also focused on equipping store teams with better tools. Hy-Vee’s finance team recently enhanced budgeting and forecasting resources for store directors, and the marketing team launched a marketing hub that provides real-time promotional assets tailored to local markets. The guiding principle: “If you’re not serving a customer directly, how do you serve those who are?”
Hy-Vee’s enduring success is due to its service-first culture and community commitment, Ringena said, and its biggest opportunity moving forward is to weave together data, messaging and Hy-Vee’s distinctive service model to engage with customers across every touchpoint of the shopping journey.
