Jim Trappani joins Family Dollar as VP of HBA

MATTHEWS, N.C. — Family Dollar Stores Inc. has named Jim Trappani vice president of health and beauty aids.

"Health and beauty aids play a growing and important role to our customer," said Family Dollar president and chief operating officer Mike Bloom. "Jim brings nearly 30 years of experience in the HBA category, and through his leadership and supplier relationships we will continue to grow the assortment, perfecting the mix to better meet the needs of our core customer and growing trade-in consumer."

Trappani comes to Family Dollar from CVS Caremark Corp., where he spent six years, most recently serving as vice president, merchandising – consumer health.

In that role he helped increase penetration of private brands at the retailer, while also managing CVS’ largest business unit.

At Family Dollar Trappani is in charge of health and beauty aids. Reporting to him are buyers Kelly Coble, Ann Gustin, Terry Cerwick and Latrisa Wedgeworth and associate buyer Jason Atkins.

Trappani reports to senior vice president and general merchandise manager John Scanlon.
