CINCINNATI — Effective Jan. 1, Kao Brands Co. will change its name to Kao USA Inc. as part of a larger repositioning effort by its parent company, Tokyo-based Kao Corp., a leading maker of beauty care and household products.

Effective Jan. 1, Kao Brands Co. will change its name to Kao USA Inc. as part of a larger repositioning effort by its parent company, Tokyo-based Kao Corp., a leading maker of beauty care and household products.

Along with the name change, Kao’s beauty care subsidiaries in North America and Europe will operate as unified organizations in the major countries within which they operate.

According to Kao president and chief executive officer Motoki Ozaki, the approach will give the company greter leverage in key markets and enable Kao to better use its combined experience and resources to drive growth in the United States and worldwide.

“The alignment with Kao’s beauty care business will provide us with an opportunity to better harness Kao’s global scale and resources for the benefit of consumers and customers in the North American and European markets,” says Bill Gentner, president and CEO of Kao Brands. “It will also provide more career opportunities for people both locally and interntionally.”
