WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — Keech Combe Shetty is carrying forward a family legacy of innovation as executive chair of Combe Inc., the personal care company founded by her grandfather, Ivan Combe, in 1949. Under her leadership, Combe has remained committed to its mission of addressing unmet consumer needs with innovative products.
“For the past 75 years, Combe’s mission has been to be the most personal personal care company in the world,” Combe Shetty says. “We strive to delight consumers by solving tangible pain points and providing employees with careers infused with purpose, empowerment and professional growth.”
Combe’s portfolio includes well-known brands such as Just For Men, Vagisil, Virtue Labs, Astroglide and Sea Bond, spanning men’s grooming, women’s intimate health, hair care, sexual wellness and oral care. The company, now fully owned by women, operates in more than 100 countries, with seven offices worldwide. As a third-generation leader, Combe Shetty takes pride in the company’s longevity. “Very few family-owned businesses have thrived into the third generation, and we feel excited and fortunate as we march toward the fourth,” she says.
Before joining Combe in 2006, Combe Shetty earned a BA from Northwestern University and an MBA from its Kellogg School of Management. She worked at Estée Lauder Cos. and now serves on industry boards, including the Consumer Healthcare Products Association and Personal Care Products Council. Beyond business, she is passionate about education, serving on the boards of Kellogg and the Stephen Gaynor School, which supports children with language-based learning differences.
