HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. — Kmart last month launched a program designed to help shoppers who are uninsured or underinsured save money on prescription drugs and other pharmacy products.

Customers can enroll in the program, called Kmart Pharmacy Savings Plus, at any Kmart pharmacy, the company said.

Kmart is offering two membership plans: an individual membership for $10 per year or a household membership for $15 per year.

“We are pleased to introduce the new Pharmacy Savings Plus program as another example of how Kmart Pharmacy is focused on the overall health and well-being of our Kmart shoppers,” commented Phil Keough, president of Kmart Pharmacy. “We are committed to offering discounted prescriptions and other health-related benefits to make it more cost effective to be healthy.”

Customers can boost their savings by using the Savings Plus program in conjunction with Kmart’s Shop Your Way Pharmacy Rewards Program, the company noted. For every five prescriptions filled, participants get $10 in Shop Your Way points to use on qualifying purchases in-store or online.
