CINCINNATI — The Kroger Co. has announced the promotion of Mike Goodwin, currently vice president of operations for the company’s Fred Meyer Division, to president of Kroger’s Central Division, effective April 1, 2026. The Central Division oversees Kroger’s operations across Indiana, Illinois, Missouri and Ohio.
Goodwin succeeds Colleen Juergensen, who recently announced her retirement following a distinguished 45-year career with Kroger.
Goodwin joined Kroger in 2022, where he played a key role in enhancing store performance and driving sales growth across the Fred Meyer Division. His leadership in operational excellence and customer experience has positioned him as a strong successor to lead Kroger’s Central Division.
Prior to joining Kroger, Goodwin spent 30 years with Albertsons, most recently serving as vice president of operations for the company’s Southwest Division.
Goodwin’s appointment comes during a period of continued organizational evolution for Kroger. Since mid‑2025, the company has executed a series of division-level leadership changes, including the consolidation of its Texas operations and multiple executive appointments across its Cincinnati-Dayton, Louisville and private-label teams.
