CINCINNATI — Kroger announced that it is moving forward with a $38 million development in Crawfordsville, Ind. where it will construct its largest-format store to date. The new Kroger Marketplace — complete with a fuel center — will be built just south of the company’s current location and will span roughly the size of two and a half football fields.
The expanded store will introduce several new offerings, including Murray’s Cheese, Starbucks, fresh store-made sushi and an apparel section. Kroger expects the Marketplace to open within the next year.
The project is part of the Central Division’s broader $200 million investment plan aimed at building new stores and expanding or remodeling existing locations across the region. The contractors and Kroger engineers plan to open the new Marketplace in about one year.
