CINCINNATI — The Kroger Co. has introduced a new service that allows customers to receive eligible prescription medications and grocery orders in a single Instacart delivery, providing a more convenient way to manage household shopping and pharmacy needs.
Available through the Kroger app and website, the service is designed for customers enrolled in Kroger's My Prescriptions program and online pay. The offering streamlines the ordering process by enabling shoppers to combine prescription refills and grocery purchases into one delivery order from their local Kroger pharmacy.
"Customers are increasingly looking for convenient, time-saving solutions that simplify everyday tasks," the company said. "By bringing together pharmacy and grocery delivery, Kroger is making it easier for customers to access the products and medications they need in a single transaction."
How It Works
To use the service, customers must first enroll in My Prescriptions and activate online pay through their Kroger account. Once a prescription is ready for pickup, customers can select the delivery option, choose their local Kroger pharmacy and add eligible medications to their cart. During checkout, they can select the combined grocery and prescription delivery option, add grocery items and choose a preferred delivery time.
Eligible Medications
The service is available for most standard maintenance medications and select acute-care prescriptions, including antibiotics. Certain items, however, are excluded from delivery, including controlled substances and refrigerated medications.
Delivery Requirements
Customers may choose a "Leave at My Door" option when available, eliminating the need for a signature. Otherwise, an adult age 18 or older with a valid government-issued ID must be present to accept the delivery.
Fees and Availability
Standard grocery delivery terms and fees apply. Prescription delivery fees and insurance-related requirements may vary by market and pharmacy location.
The launch reflects Kroger's ongoing efforts to expand digital health and e-commerce services, offering customers greater flexibility and convenience in managing both pharmacy and grocery purchases.
