Kroger names president of QFC division

CINCINNATI — Kroger Co. has promoted Dennis Gibson to the position of president of the QFC division, headquartered in Seattle. He succeeds Joe Fey, who was named president of Kroger’s Mid-Atlantic division in January.

Kroger Co. has promoted Dennis Gibson to the position of president of the QFC division, headquartered in Seattle. He succeeds Joe Fey, who was named president of Kroger’s Mid-Atlantic division in January.

Prior to the appointment, Gibson was serving as vice president of merchandising in Kroger’s Columbus division. A 38-year supermarket veteran, he started his career in 1976 with Grand Central discount department stores in Salt Lake City. He joined Fred Meyer Inc., now a division of Kroger, in 1984, and rose through positions of increasing responsibility for 27 years. He was appointed vice president of operations for the Kroger Columbus division in 2011, and he took over the merchandising role last year.
