WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Raley's Companies has announced a round of executive appointments, elevating three leaders as the family-owned grocery operator looks to sharpen customer engagement and operational execution across its multiple store banners.
The moves, announced by company owner and CEO Mike Teel, alongside co-presidents Tiffanie Burkhalter and Jen Warner, consolidate marketing under the company's communications chief and promote two internal executives to newly expanded operations and merchandising roles.
Carol Barsotti, who has led communications, government affairs, and community impact for the company, will now also oversee marketing as Chief Marketing Officer. The combined mandate signals a bet that brand messaging and community engagement work best when managed as a single function rather than separate departments.
Natalie Slater moves up to senior vice president, enterprise operations, taking responsibility for store operations across all of the company's banners. Levi Wingo was promoted to senior vice president, sales & merchandising strategy, overseeing merchandising strategy, category growth, and customer value initiatives companywide.
The appointments come as grocery retailers nationally face pressure to modernize operations while competing on price and convenience against big-box and e-commerce rivals. "The grocery industry is evolving rapidly, creating new opportunities to serve customers in better and more meaningful ways," Teel said in a statement, framing the changes as positioning the company to "move with greater agility."
Co-president Jen Warner described the promotions as evidence of a deep internal leadership bench. "These appointments reflect both the strength of our leadership pipeline and our commitment to developing leaders who can anticipate change," she said. Co-president Tiffanie Burkhalter echoed that theme, tying the appointments to the company's more than 90-year operating history.
“The companies that succeed over the long term are those that continually invest in their people and prepare for what comes next,” Burkhalter said. “These leaders bring the experience, strategic perspective, and customer focus needed to guide our next chapter of growth while carrying forward the values that have earned the trust of our customers, team members, and communities for over 90 years.”
The new roles sit alongside an existing divisional leadership team that includes Paul Gianetto, President of Raley's; Faith Garrard, Vice President of Sales & Merchandising for Raley's; Jess Blakely, Vice President of Sales & Merchandising for Bashas'; and Ralph Woodward, Senior Vice President of Operations for Bashas'.
The Raley's Companies operates multiple grocery banners and is privately held under Teel's ownership.
