ARLINGTON, Va. — Lidl US is expanding its footprint in the New York market with the opening of a new grocery store in Tappan on Sept. 16. Located at 37 Route 303, the store will offer the retailer’s mix of private-label products, imported items and fresh, locally sourced foods at value-driven prices.
The grand opening celebration will begin with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7:40 a.m., giving early shoppers a first look at the new store, access to special promotions and an opportunity to explore Lidl’s signature assortment. The store will then operate daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Lidl said the new location reflects its focus on delivering quality products, streamlined shopping experiences and competitive pricing. Shoppers will find a wide assortment of exclusive private-label offerings, European imports and fresh produce sourced from local suppliers.
A key feature of the Lidl shopping experience is its in-store bakery, where bread and pastries are baked throughout the day. The retailer’s customer loyalty platform, Lidl Plus, offers additional savings through personalized coupons, exclusive member discounts and a points-based rewards program.
The company also highlights a variety of rotating promotions designed to drive value for shoppers. Weekly Deals launch each Wednesday and feature discounts on produce, pantry staples and national brands. Weekend Super Sale promotions run Fridays through Sundays on select items, while Monday Must-Haves spotlight seasonal and non-food merchandise ranging from kitchenware to home décor.
Among the products featured at the Tappan store opening are Lidl’s popular 49-cent butter croissants, imported from Europe and baked fresh daily, Bon Gelati Mini Mix Ice Cream Bars, Snack Day All Dressed Wavy Potato Chips, Alesto Raw Cashews, Dark Chocolate with Whole Roasted Hazelnuts, Solevita Organic Lemon Ginger Shots and Lidl Preferred Selection Gold Coffee imported from Germany.
The retailer will also showcase seasonal bakery items through its Special Guest bakery program, which introduces limited-time products each month. For the Tappan opening, featured items will include a Pumpkin Danish, Pumpkin Muffin and Cranberry Orange Scone.
The opening marks another step in Lidl’s ongoing growth strategy in the Northeast, where the retailer continues to expand its presence by offering shoppers a combination of quality, convenience and low prices.
