SAN FRANCISCO — LiquiDonate has relaunched its Shopify app under a new name, ReturnsDirect, adding enterprise-grade return and exchange capabilities designed to help small and mid-sized merchants manage what is expected to be a record-high holiday returns season.
LiquiDonate is a sustainable social impact platform that connects retailers and businesses with nonprofits and community organizations to keep usable products out of landfills and support local needs.
The updated app now offers instant exchanges, store credit, multi-location routing, 3PL connectivity, and scheduling for oversized FedEx pickups. These upgrades build on LiquiDonate’s core functionality of routing unsellable returns and excess inventory to more than 4,000 nonprofits, allowing retailers to avoid landfill disposal while receiving tax benefits.

The relaunch comes as retailers prepare for an increase in holiday returns. The National Retail Federation projects that total returns across the retail industry will reach 850 billion dollars by year’s end. LiquiDonate states that merchants using ReturnsDirect can reduce return-related costs by up to 60 percent and retain more revenue by encouraging exchanges rather than issuing refunds.
LiquiDonate’s platform supports donations of unsellable items directly to nonprofits and schools, reducing freight miles and emissions by eliminating the need for return shipments to warehouses or distribution centers.
