Love’s, Buc-ee’s, Poppy Market, RaceTrac and Stewart’s expand nationwide

From Texas to Idaho, California to Florida and New York, leading retailers expand.

Stewart’s Shops has opened new 4,500-square-foot store in Plattsburgh, NY.

Love’s Travel Stops has expanded its Texas footprint with the opening of a new travel stop in Tulia, located between Amarillo and Lubbock. The 12,000-square-foot site adds 59 truck parking spaces, six diesel bays and a CAT scale to Love’s nationwide network. The location also features RV hookups and a dog park. To mark the opening, Love’s donated $5,000 each to the Harrington Cancer and Health Foundation and the Swisher County Senior Citizens Association Inc.

Meanwhile, Buc-ee’s is reportedly planning a westward expansion into Idaho. According to BoiseDev, records obtained under the Idaho Public Records Act show that the company is negotiating to purchase 30 acres at the Meridian Road interchange. Plans call for a 74,000-square-foot travel center—though not a truck stop—representing over $50 million in capital investment. The project could create 175 to 225 jobs and generate $9 million in annual payroll.

On the West Coast, Poppy Market opened a new location in San Jose, California, highlighting fresh, organic and gluten-free foods, everyday essentials, and its proprietary Poppy Fuel offering.

RaceTrac also marked growth, welcoming Store #2632 in Riviera Beach, Florida. The 6,000-square-foot store is designed to serve nearly 70,000 daily travelers, moving RaceTrac closer to its milestone of 600th store.

In New York state, Stewart’s Shops celebrated the debut of a new 4,500-square-foot store in Plattsburgh, New York. The $2.8 million project doubles the size of the fueling island and adds a high-flow diesel dispenser. Stewart’s also donated $2,500 to Cumberland Head Elementary School to commemorate the opening.
