HOLMDEL, N.J. — Market Performance Group (MPG) has tapped Michael Walton to serve as president and chief commercial officer.
Walton will report to CEO Jason Reiser and will oversee several of MPG’s core business functions, including omnichannel commerce, growth strategy and solutions, retail insights, and strategic intelligence. The company said those practices will continue to operate under their current leadership.
The appointment comes as MPG strives to position itself as a partner for brands navigating an increasingly complex retail landscape, where data, digital capabilities and integrated go-to-market strategies are playing a larger role in driving growth.
Walton brings experience across both retail and consumer packaged goods organizations, according to the company. His background includes roles at Sam’s Club, where he worked in both headquarters and in-club positions, as well as senior leadership roles at Dole Packaged Foods, Unilever and Elida Beauty.
Walton’s cross-functional experience will support MPG’s efforts to help clients identify growth opportunities and turn strategy into execution, the company says.
“Michael is a highly regarded industry leader whose depth of commercial experience and retail perspective will bring immediate impact to how we help clients identify and capture growth opportunities in an increasingly complex market,” Reiser said in a statement.
Walton said he sees an opportunity to build on MPG’s existing capabilities.
“I’m excited to join MPG and to work alongside high-performing, experienced teams that are deeply committed to helping clients grow,” he said. “There is a real opportunity ahead, and I’m looking forward to helping clients unlock growth in meaningful ways.”
MPG provides integrated commercial services aimed at connecting brands with consumers across channels, including strategy development, analytics and retail execution. The company said Walton’s appointment reflects ongoing investment in talent and capabilities to support client growth in a dynamic retail environment.
