Market Performance Group taps Jason Reiser for new role

PRINCETON JUNCTION, N.J. ‒ Market Performance Group (MPG) has named Jason Reiser, former chief merchandising officer of Dollar General, and former executive at The Vitamin Shoppe, Family Dollar, and Sam’s Club to MPG’s newly created position of president, sales strategy and services beginning March 8, 2021.

MPG is a uniquely positioned services organization comprised of highly experienced line professionals from across manufacturing and retail. MPG was established in 2002 as a CPG/retail consultancy firm and has evolved over time, adding capabilities to better serve its clients’ go-to-market needs.  According to founder and managing partner Marc Greenberger, MPG prides itself on its reputation as a trusted partner who leverages deep expertise from real world experiences with an understanding of, and access to, all levels of retail to ensure effective strategy and in-market realization that delivers both top-line revenue and bottom-line profit for MPG clients.

Reiser comes to MPG with a wealth of dynamic experiences spanning retail management, government relations, compliance, merchandising, global sourcing and digital tools across multiple channels including mass, club, and specialty. He most recently served as the EVP, chief merchandising officer for Dollar General with responsibility for merchandising, marketing, digital tools, sourcing, and in-store experience.

Prior to that, Reiser served as EVP and COO at the Vitamin Shoppe, where he was responsible for merchandising, operations, and supply chain.  He served as chief merchandising officer at Family Dollar from 2013 to 2016. He also spent more than 15 years with Walmart/Sam’s Club, beginning in government relations/regulatory affairs and culminating is his position as VP merchandising, health, and family care for Sam’s Club. Reiser is a licensed pharmacist with a B.S. in Pharmacy from Northeastern University.
