Maty Kiser

Vice President, Information Technology Operations and Support, Dollar General.

Maty Kiser has built her leadership philosophy around one core principle: Technology should serve people.

“I take pride in building environments where people feel supported and empowered,” Kiser said, pointing to servant leadership and inclusion as cornerstones of her approach while also leaning into her childhood learnings from living in Spain and France, which provided a global perspective on how to mentor talent, create space for multiple voices to be heard and facilitate team collaborations.

Kiser’s career spans more than three decades. With experience leading large-scale IT transformations, modernizing infrastructure, elevating service delivery and guiding cultural change, she has implemented that mindset into her work and leadership at Dollar General since joining as vice president of information technology operations and support in 2021.

Today, Kiser leads the team responsible for supporting the technology foundation for nearly 21,000 Dollar General stores and 34 distribution centers, ensuring its reliable functionality. In IT parlance, she said, her team is “running the railroad” — delivering reliable, high-quality services that enable approximately 195,000 employees to serve Dollar General’s customers and communities each day.

Regardless of the challenge, Kiser’s pride in her team’s continual focus to advance the company’s mission of Serving Others is evident.

“The work we do behind the scenes ensures our customers and underserved communities across the U.S. have access to the essentials they rely on, and I’m honored to lead a team always focused on how we can best serve,” Kiser concluded.
