Meijer earns its Highest Great Place to Work Scores Ever

Meijer outperformed previous years in key workplace culture areas such as respect, fairness, and pride.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Midwest retailer Meijer has been recognized as a Great Place to Work® for the seventh year in a row, earning its highest employee satisfaction scores to date. The privately owned, family-operated company received top marks for its commitment to community involvement, fostering an inclusive environment, and cultivating supportive leadership.

Based on employee feedback collected through The Trust Index Survey™, Meijer outperformed previous years in key workplace culture areas such as respect, fairness, and pride. President & CEO Rick Keyes credited the recognition to the company’s continuous focus on nurturing growth and appreciation among its 70,000+ team members.

“Our team members are telling us that across the company we are creating a supportive environment that encourages learning and growth,” Keyes said. “This not only makes Meijer a Great Place to Work, but also helps cultivate a welcoming atmosphere for our customers to shop.”

“We continue to push ourselves to find new ways to enhance our team member experience,” said Chief Human Resources Officer Michelle Hall. “Our team members are core to our success, so we want to be sure they feel appreciated and valued. These results show that we are focusing on the right areas.”

The retailer highlighted its internal “mteam” recognition platform, which logged over 4 million peer-to-peer shoutouts in 2024. Through this program, employees can reward one another with redeemable points for extra pay, gift cards, and more.

In addition to fostering a culture of gratitude, Meijer offers a robust benefits package that includes weekly pay, educational support, career advancement, and flexible work schedules. Open roles across its 241 supercenters can be found at jobs.meijer.com.
