GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Meijer is making it easier for parents to recycle their old baby gear while saving on new purchases. From October 27 through November 9, the Midwestern retailer will host a baby gear recycling event at all of its supercenter locations, allowing customers to dispose of unneeded, expired, or damaged items such as car seats and strollers. In return, participating customers will receive a 25% discount on baby gear via the retailer’s mPerks program, helping families access essential items more affordably.
“Car seats and strollers are expensive and difficult to recycle once they’re no longer needed or up to current safety standards,” said Marlys Roberts, Director of Merchandise at Meijer. “We want to provide families with a simple and sustainable solution, while also offering savings on essential baby gear.”
Customers can bring eligible items to designated drop-off points near the customer service desk in Meijer stores, the company says. The 25% off coupon, valid for car seats, strollers, travel systems, bassinets, and more, can be redeemed twice from October 27 through November 23.
With this initiative, Meijer is helping parents declutter sustainably while easing the cost of replacing necessary baby gear.
