Michele Demsky has built ArtSkills into a nationally recognized creative consumer goods company by combining entrepreneurial vision with a highly collaborative leadership style. Founded on the belief that creativity is a skill anyone can develop with the right tools, ArtSkills embodies Demsky’s conviction that imagination and discipline are not mutually exclusive. A former Broadway musical theater performer, she brings a performer’s understanding of preparation, collaboration and presence to the executive suite. She sees business as an ensemble effort where every voice contributes to the final result.

“My focus is building influence the right way — first by listening and then by committing to collaboration,” Demsky says. “We use data and empathy together to understand merchant needs and shopper expectations, and we develop products that directly address those insights. Internally, I lead the same way: creating space for every voice, asking questions and investing in people so they stay and become true experts. Culture is not soft; it is a competitive advantage.”

Under her leadership, ArtSkills has earned national recognition, including the designation as a Key Diverse Supplier and two Supplier of the Year awards from Dollar General. She has also spoken at major industry events, reinforcing her belief that when empathy leads, and creativity follows, growth becomes sustainable and partnership driven.
