DEERFIELD, Ill. — Walgreens has hired Min Cho to serve as chief format concepts and design officer, the company said on Monday. He will report to Tracey Brown, the retailer’s chief customer officer. In this newly created role and function, Cho will focus on new innovative store design and architecture, which the company says is designed “to embrace creativity and functionality to put our customers, patients and team members at the center of everything the company does.”
He will join the company in the role at the end of the month.
“Cho will be a key player in developing how to bring our brand and values to life in our physical store spaces,” the company said.
Cho has extensive experience in architecture and design and has spent most of his career working on iconic brands such as Nordstrom and Starbucks. He was most recently VP global concepts in the growth and concepts organization at Starbucks, where he led the innovation for brand experience strategy for customers and employees, store design and construction, among other responsibilities to support the existing store portfolio and new stores.
