WASHINGTON — March of Dimes hosted its 40th Annual Gourmet Gala in Washington, D.C., earlier this month, and the NACDS Foundation returned as a Platinum Sponsor of the event.
The Gourmet Gala makes possible research, education, advocacy and programs that “help more moms have full-term pregnancies and healthy babies.” This year, the Gourmet Gala brought together more than 750 guests, over 35 U.S. Senators and Representatives and raised $1.3 million for March of Dimes.
During the event, Steven C. Anderson delivered remarks in his capacity as chairman of the NACDS Foundation — focusing on March of Dimes’ and the NACDS Foundation’s shared vision of protecting and promoting the health of Americans through equitable access to care.
Anderson’s remarks are below:
“I’m truly delighted to be here – together again – reunited with all of you.
“In reflecting on our time apart over the last two years, there are so many lessons learned. New ideas, technologies, and accelerated innovations in healthcare and public health. The March of Dimes continues to demonstrate what it means to be cutting-edge.
“Long before COVID-19 emerged, the March of Dimes committed to fighting health inequities and addressing disparities. Their work is focused on improving the lives of moms and babies — everywhere. And while so much changed during the pandemic, the March of Dimes’ deep commitment to the health of all families remained solid and unwavering.
“This reminds me of our work at the NACDS Foundation – where we are working to strengthen access to care and promote equity and innovations across communities. We accomplish this through ground-breaking research, education, and partnerships.
“Together, the March of Dimes, the NACDS Foundation, and each one of you, are making an important difference in the lives of families all over the world.
“Tonight, we celebrate the remarkable mission of the March of Dimes. And all that they do to support healthy moms and strong babies.”
