ARLINGTON, Va. — The #NourishMyHealth campaign is part of a commitment by NACDS to the September 28, 2022 White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health. This national public education initiative is focused on helping Americans embrace the protective health benefits that nutritious food provides in reducing the risk of diet-related conditions, including diabetes, heart disease, and cancer.

As “Food is Medicine” interventions continue to gain traction with healthcare experts, health plans, policymakers, and other stakeholders, NACDS remains committed to highlighting the importance of addressing diet-related diseases as serious public health threats, while also showcasing the essential role of pharmacies as champions of health and wellness to improve the prevention, management, and treatment of chronic diseases.

#NourishMyHealth messaging centers on the following calls to action: (1) Get a baseline health screening (blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar/blood glucose, and body mass index) at your pharmacy and learn about your risk for nutrition-related diseases; (2) Improve your baseline numbers by adding healthy foods to your diet to live longer and healthier; and (3) Access important information about healthy foods, lifestyle modifications, and health screenings in the dedicated campaign website and related resources.

Since the campaign’s launch, strong engagement from NACDS chain pharmacy members has been essential in driving 40% of the campaign’s 175 million impressions and nearly 8,000 nutrition security screenings captured by more than 5,000 in-store kiosks operated by Higi. Members have activated in the campaign by sharing key messages and resources with the communities they serve – rolling out digital messaging, flyer distribution, wellness events, loyalty member communications, in-store circulars, and more. This is yet another example of the industry’s unwavering commitment to the health and wellness of people and communities.

Leveraging this strong momentum, the American Diabetes Association (ADA), a founding partner of NACDS’ Nourish My Health, is ramping up their activation this weekend! This Saturday, ADA will be promoting Nourish My Health at Cure de Tour events in Michigan and New York, and at additional community events throughout the year, including both their Cure de Tour cycling events and Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes events.

The campaign has driven 175 million impressions and nearly 8,000 nutrition security screenings with support from engaged NACDS chain pharmacy members.
