Nancy Lyons leads clinical direction at Health Mart, a network of nearly 4,000 high-performing, locally owned independent community pharmacies across the United States. Lyons works collaboratively with multiple organizations to develop business plans and deliver opportunities to expand sustainable clinical services and opportunities for community pharmacists and technicians.
Lyons previously served as director of continuing education and clinical content at Drug Store News, as scientific advisor in global medical and scientific affairs at Roche Diabetes Care, and as a specialty pharmacist at Accredo Specialty pharmacy. She’s also worked as the principal consultant and medical writer of a clinical and management consulting company.
Earlier, Lyons held clinical and leadership positions for Albertsons and SuperValu pharmacies. During her time at Albertsons and SuperValu, she led a program in national diabetes care, organized national pharmacist and registered dietitian-led grocery store educational tours, implemented a national point-of-care health screening program and managed companywide clinical training services. She also served as primary faculty for a multi-day, hands-on, practice-based chronic condition management training program for pharmacists that was an approved prerequisite for network provider participation with a managed care payer.
Lyons is a licensed pharmacist, with a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from Butler University and an MBA from Keller Graduate School. She has been a certified diabetes care and education specialist, previously termed CDE, for more than 20 years. In 2025 the American Pharmacists Foundation presented her with Jacob W. Miller Award, established in 2000 to recognize individuals who have advanced the foundation’s mission through involvement in its programs, support of its initiatives or leadership in carrying out its mission.
