KEASBEY, N.J. — As director of marketing at Wakefern Food Corp., Natalie Crowe develops promotional plans that support the retailer-owned cooperative’s sales goals and leverage members’ digital and in-store marketing assets.

Crowe joined Wakefern two decades ago as a leader in training and, before long, was named the organization’s first corporate dietitian, charged with creating and leading retail and corporate dietitian programs and corporate wellness marketing campaigns.

In her current role, Crowe works alongside Wakefern’s procurement and sales teams to create themes and events that appeal to customers of the co-operative’s approximately 50 member companies that independently own and operate more than 360 supermarkets under the ShopRite, Price Rite Marketplace, The Fresh Grocer, Dearborn Market, Di Bruno Bros., Gourmet Garage and Fairway Market banners across the Northeast.

“My team develops weekly marketing plans that support ShopRite themes, including Big Game, Grilling and our iconic Can Can sale,” says Crowe. “We also elevate value messaging for programs such as Digital Doorbusters, Dollars Deals and 3 Day Sales. Holiday and event campaigns — including Thanksgiving, Christmas, Diwali, Passover and Holi — also provide a great opportunity for us to speak to our customers on a more personal level about the meal traditions that mean so much to their families.”

Crowe is a 2020 recipient of the Esther Peterson Award for Customer Service, presented by FMI – The Food Industry Association to honor visionary leaders who are addressing the needs of retail food customers.

She holds a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University and a master’s degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey/Rutgers. Crowe lives in Berkeley Heights, N.J., with her family.
