LAKEWOOD, Colo. – In recognition of World Food Day on Oct. 16, Natural Grocers will once again host a one-day, in-store fundraising campaign benefiting The Cornucopia Institute. Natural Grocers has pledged to donate 1% of sales from all stores nationwide, with a goal of raising more than $45,000 for the nonprofit.

SUPPORTING ORGANIC INTEGRITY TOGETHER
Customers are invited to shop at their local Natural Grocers on Oct. 16 to participate in the company's second annual World Food Day fundraiser for The Cornucopia Institute. 1% of the day's sales will be donated to support the organization's work to safeguard the integrity of organic labeling, production, processing and marketing.
"World Food Day reminds us that everyday choices at the grocery store can help shape the future of food," said Raquel Isely, vice president of marketing at Natural Grocers. "We are proud to continue our support of The Cornucopia Institute and its important work to protect organic integrity for generations to come."
THE CORNUCOPA INSTITUTE
The Cornucopia Institute is a nonprofit watchdog for organic food and a trusted resource for organic advocates seeking to align their purchases with their values. Through consumer tools, policy work, and investigations into the organic marketplace, Cornucopia works to uncover the truth behind organic food and advocate for an organic label consumers and retailers can trust.
Cornucopia Executive Director Melody Morrell says, "Natural Grocers is turning a single day of shopping into a powerful investment in our food future. Together, we are driving demand for the best organic food, ensuring tomorrow's innovative organic brands have a chance, and keeping dedicated organic farmers on the land."
