RONKONKOMA, N.Y. — The nutritional supplement maker NBTY Inc. is changing its name to The Nature’s Bounty Co. to better communicate its health and wellness focus to consumers.
“For millions of people around the world, Nature’s Bounty and all our brands are an important part of their daily lives, helping them achieve their wellness goals,” Nature’s Bounty president and CEO Steve Cahillane said in a statement. “As a wellness company, we are committed to providing people with thousands of high quality products that help to complement their lifestyles and their physical health. As a name, The Nature’s Bounty Co. more accurately reflects the commitment we have to supporting wellness by leveraging science and nature.”
The renamed company comprises three businesses: Consumer Products Group, Holland & Barrett International and Puritan’s Pride. In all, the company sells more than 16,000 vitamin, supplement, sports and active nutrition and ethical beauty products in more than 100 countries. In addition to its flagship Nature’s Bounty brand, the company’s brands include Sundown Naturals, Solgar, Holland & Barrett, Osteo Bi-Flex, Ester-C, MET-Rx, Pure Protein, Balance, Body Fortress, Puritan’s Pride and Organic Dr.
