New Philadelphia GIANT opens today

PHILADELPHIA — GIANT has opened a new store at the Andorra Shopping Center, 701 Cathedral Road, expanding its presence in the Philadelphia market.

The nearly 50,000-square-foot location operates daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and brings more than 160 full- and part-time jobs to the community.

The store features GIANT’s signature fresh departments, including an expansive produce section with organic produce, meat and seafood, a service deli, dairy, bakery and floral, along with a dedicated natural and organic assortment. Prepared food options include a hot bar with barbecue selections, grab-and-go salads, a specialty cheese case and in-store sushi.

Additional amenities include a beer-and-wine section offering wine slushies and ready-to-drink cocktails, as well as a Starbucks kiosk, both located on an elevated mezzanine. The location also supports GIANT Direct, enabling online grocery ordering with curbside pickup.

To mark the opening, GIANT made donations to several local organizations, including The Table Food Pantry at Roxborough Church, The Salvation Army Roxborough Corps, the Philadelphia Police 5th District, Philadelphia Fire Department Engine 66 and Shawmont School.
