WESTCHESTER, N.Y.— A new Trader Joe’s — the county’s fifth — is coming to Yonkers, according to the Rockland/Westchester Journal News.
The retailer has not shared an opening date or confirmed an exact location as of yet. However, a reporter uncovered signage for electrical permits at 2480 Central Park Ave., between Best Buy and DSW, near the vacant Hallmark store — suggesting that site may be the future home.
The new Yonkers store would join existing Westchester Trader Joe’s locations in Larchmont, Hartsdale, Yorktown Heights, and Scarsdale (on the Eastchester border).
“Yonkers is a vibrant community, and it’s been clear to us for a long time that this city deserves a Trader Joe’s,” said regional vice president Sunshine Haven. “We’re thrilled to bring a new store here and look forward to being a welcoming, friendly spot for our Yonkers neighbors to shop,” the article stated.
