CARLISLE, Pa. -– The GIANT Co. is set to open its newest Philadelphia store on June 19. The 50,000-square-foot store is located within the Andorra Shopping Center at 701 Cathedral Road.
“The opening of our newest GIANT in the City of Brotherly Love reflects our continued commitment to serving a Philadelphia that continues to grow and thrive, especially as the city prepares for a landmark summer ahead,” said John Ruane, president, of The GIANT Co.
Christina McAdams [pictured above], has been appointed store manager. McAdams, a 25-year veteran of the grocery industry, will join store employees and community representatives for a ribbon-cutting ceremony before the doors open at 8 a.m.
“Just in time for summer celebrations, our team is ready to serve customers no matter how they want to shop with us – whether its in-store or online,” said McAdams. “From convenient amenities, enhanced product variety, and everyday savings, we can’t wait to bring the GIANT shopping experience to the Andorra community.”
Customers will find GIANT’s signature fresh departments, including a large, market-feel produce department with dedicated space for organics, meat and seafood, service deli with pre-sliced meats and cheeses, dairy, bakery, full-service floral, and a separate healthy, natural and organic section including both fresh and frozen products. For today’s busy families, the store features a hot food bar which includes smoked and barbeque meats, pre-pack salad offerings in the deli, specialty cheese case, and an in-store sushi chef.
The new store also offers a large beer and wine area featuring an assortment of wine slushies and ready-to-drink cocktails and a full-service Starbucks coffee kiosk. Both are located on an elevated mezzanine overlooking the store.
In addition, the store will offer GIANT Direct. Designed to serve customers when and how they want to shop, GIANT Direct gives busy families the opportunity to order their groceries online for easy curbside pick-up.
