Pathmark Daily opens in East Meadow, New York

The store, converted from a former Foodtown, is designed to reestablish the brand’s footprint in the Northeast

EAST MEADOW, N.Y. — Allegiance Retail Services launched their new small-format banner, Pathmark Daily, with its first location opening today—marking the return of the Pathmark name to Long Island more than a decade after the A&P bankruptcy in 2015. The store, converted from a former Foodtown, is designed to reestablish the brand’s footprint in the Northeast.

The inaugural Pathmark Daily is located at 625 Merrick Ave. in East Meadow, N.Y., and celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The Pathmark Daily concept features smaller-format stores, a departure from the large-scale Pathmark supermarkets of the past.

The store operates within a two-floor, 28,000-square-foot building with a 15,000-square-foot main sales floor.

Mike Said, who converted his current Foodtown supermarket into Pathmark Daily, explains he is doing so as it better meets the needs of the community: “Bringing Pathmark Daily to our neighborhood answers the needs of our shoppers. It makes their life easier by offering a quick, convenient shopping experience without sacrificing value, quality or savings.” Said continued, “We are proud to be a trusted community partner by providing competitive weekly sales, specials, and Pathmark’s robust loyalty savings program in a smaller concept store designed for today’s modern lifestyle.”
