Peggy Davies has dedicated more than four decades to advancing the private label industry, building a career that spans manufacturing, retail collaboration and association leadership.
Since becoming president of the Private Label Manufacturers Association in 2020, she has focused on strengthening PLMA’s role as a year-round resource and strategic voice for store brands.
Davies started her career at Daymon Associates, where she was part of the team that helped develop Wegmans brand products, gaining early experience in aligning retailer strategy with manufacturer capabilities. She later held senior executive and general management roles at Comstock Michigan Fruit, Agrilink–Birds Eye, and McCain Foods USA, overseeing operations and driving growth across branded and private label portfolios.
Her connection to PLMA spans more than 30 years. Davies joined the association’s board in the early 1990s and served as chair from 2003 to 2004, becoming the first woman to lead the board. In 2016, she transitioned to the executive team as vice president of association relations, expanding PLMA’s education initiatives, trade relations and member programs before being named president.
A champion for industry advancement and inclusion, Davies founded Women Impacting Storebrand Excellence, known as WISE, and in 2013 became the first woman inducted into the Private Label Hall of Fame.
“My goals for the future of PLMA are to expand the organization’s year-round impact through education, insights and thought leadership that support and advance the store brands industry while continuing to grow our world-class trade shows and events,” Davies says.
