KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Pilot has raised nearly $11.5 million for the American Heart Association over the past nine years through contributions from its guests and team members.
The travel center operator marked the milestone during the 2026 Greater Knoxville Heart Walk on Sept. 12, which brought together Pilot leadership, employees and American Heart Association representatives.
Since 2017, Pilot has supported the organization through annual in-store fundraising campaigns. During Heart Month in February and Stroke Month in May, guests can round up eligible purchases to the nearest dollar at checkout or buy a paper heart.
“At Pilot, our purpose is to show people they matter at every turn, and supporting the safety and wellness of our team members, guests and surrounding communities through heart health and stroke awareness education is one of the most critical and meaningful ways we can live out that purpose,” said Adrienne Ingoldt, senior vice president of communications, risk and procurement at Pilot and a member of the American Heart Association’s National Life is Why Council of Retailers.
In the greater Knoxville area, Pilot’s support has helped expand Hands-Only CPR education and training to more than 200,000 people. The company has also hosted CPR and stroke identification and response training at its corporate offices and travel centers.
Pilot’s support is part of its Miles of Good giving program.
