LAKELAND, Fla. — Publix Super Markets CEO Kevin Murphy has announced that Vice President of Internal Audit Linda Hall will retire at the end of the year, capping a 40-year career with the company. The grocer also announced the promotion of three officers, effective January 1, 2026.
Hall, 65, started her career at Publix in 1985 as a data processing auditor. She was promoted to internal audit manager in 1990, then to director of internal audit in 1992, and later to vice president of internal audit in 2002.
“Linda’s commitment to improving our processes and ensuring our operations are efficient has made a significant impact on our business,” said Murphy. “We are thankful for her years of dedicated service and wish her all the best in her retirement.”
Hall said she looks forward to spending more time with family and friends and traveling.
With Hall’s retirement, Publix has announced the promotion of Meghan Vazquez to vice president of internal audit. Vazquez, 44, began her career at Publix in 1997 as a front service clerk in Valrico, Florida, before moving into internal audit in 2006. She was named manager of internal audit in 2014, senior manager in 2018, and director in 2020.
The company also promoted Aleece Tiedt to vice president and controller. Tiedt, 37, joined Publix in 2018 as a senior project manager in financial reporting. She advanced to senior manager in 2021, then to director of financial reporting in 2023, and became senior director of finance earlier this year.
Additionally, Bill Hammond was promoted to vice president, assistant general counsel, and assistant secretary. Hammond, 60, joined Publix in 2018 as a healthcare attorney, later becoming director of regulatory legal corporate counsel, then senior director of regulatory and litigation corporate counsel in 2022, and assistant general counsel in 2024.
