RaceTrac makes North Carolina debut

The new store will deliver its Whatever Gets You Going style of convenience to the Tar Heel state.

MONROE, N.C. – RaceTrac, among the country's largest convenience store chains, will mark the opening of its first North Carolina location with a community event on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 4060 W. Highway 74 in Monroe. The event will feature gift card giveaways, samples from well-known brands such as Pepsi and Takis, and a tuition donation to four students at South Piedmont Community College.

The festivities will kick off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:30 a.m. At 10 a.m., the first 100 guests in line at the RaceTrac tent will each get a $20 gift card for RaceTrac. These cards can be used at the pump or inside the store for in-store food, Swirl World frozen yogurt, and other convenience items.

The new Monroe store, conveniently located on the busy U.S. Route 74 connecting to Charlotte, marks a key milestone in the company’s growth plan. It follows recent openings in Indiana, Ohio, and South Carolina. This expansion introduces RaceTrac’s signature “Whatever Gets You Going” convenience experience to North Carolina residents for the first time and creates about 30 new jobs in Monroe.

For over 90 years, RaceTrac has been committed to making life easier and more enjoyable. It plays a key role in the daily routines of millions in the Southeast, with locations serving as convenient, one-stop shops for quality and quick service on the go.

Guests will discover a diverse selection of in-store food and beverages, including grab-and-go hot pizza, chicken tenders, sandwiches, salads, fresh fruit cups, and a Swirl World frozen yogurt bar with numerous toppings. Coffee enthusiasts can enjoy six blends of RaceTrac’s “Crazy Good Coffee” with various add-ins.

A bright, spacious front area offers guests multiple affordable fuel options. The new site also serves professional drivers and construction vehicles, with a large rear canopy that includes dedicated lanes for high-flow diesel and diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) at the pump.
